Gennaro Regina – L’urlo del Vesuvio
Apr 29, 2011
Gennaro Regina uses Vesuvius, a cumbersome presence and a wonderful source of inspiration that has always characterized and innate the image of the city and its territory: the archetype of the eruption as a driving force of new energies from whose bowels a sort of liberating catharsis of the noisy city emerges, which, with a cry, seems to want to shake off the cloak of negativity and clichés that mortifies the potential expressed by its glorious three-thousand-year history. A historical view, respectful of the pre-existing artistic and landscape features, with strong characterizing elements that constitute an added value in the iconographic panorama to which the author refers, so much so as to make one perceive an unperturbed image of the city that is projected into the future through the use of fascinating chromatisms. Provocative, denunciatory notes, inserted in the context of enchanting landscape scenarios, escape the first visual impact almost hidden, to then finally become preponderant elements of inspiration and reflection.
